
Breakfast Club is an American music group. Their biggest hit single was "Right on Track", which peaked was not. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 US chart. This song remixed for commercial release in version 12 "for dance and club games by John" Jellybean "Benitez and became the top 10 hits on the Billboard < Hot Dance Club Play chart.

The group was formed in New York City in 1979 and passed several line-ups, including one in which pop star Madonna was a drummer. In the early 1980s, the band included Madonna, Angie Smit on bass, and Gilroy's brother, Dan and Ed, both on guitar (And also singing main vocals). And Gilroy had also become Madonna's girlfriend, and she finally allowed her to sing some of the main vocals. Madonna eventually left to form a new band, Emmy and Emmy.
In the mid-1980s, the band consisted of Gilroy (with Dan now concentrating exclusively on vocals, while Ed provided all guitars), Gary Burke (bass), Paul Kauk (keyboard), and Stephen Bray (drums). Both Bray and Burke were formerly Madonna's bandmates in Emmy and Emmy.
The group signed a contract with ZE Records and released an eponymous album in 1987 on MCA Records, which spawned the US hit "Right On Track". Most of their music videos, including "Right on Track," were filmed by Jeff Stein, the documentary director of The Who The Kids Are Alright . They were nominated in the Best New Artist category at the Grammy Awards in 1988. Then, Randy Jackson (bass) and E. Doctor Smith (The Drummstick joined the band.
The second album was recorded but never released. The band's last single was The Beatles cover of "Drive My Car" for the 1988 License to Drive movie. Shortly after that the band broke up; Bray then wrote some big hits with Madonna.
And Gilroy then starred in Mother Goose Rock 'n' Rhyme as Gordon Goose and in Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle as Pete the Postman.
On April 5, 2016, the Breakfast Club released a new EP titled Percolate , featuring songs from the group's second album that have never been released. This is the first release of new material in nearly three decades.
