4K Download is a range of shareware, cross-platform programs developed by Open Media LLC. All applications run on Mac, Windows and Linux. 4K Download allows users to download videos and audio from video hosting sites such as YouTube, Facebook and Vimeo, make a photo backup from Instagram, create and publish slideshows and extract audio from video. The name of the project refers to the name of the video resolution - 4K.

Currently, 4K Download contains 5 programs:
- 4K Video Downloader enables download of video, audio, subtitles and playlists from YouTube, Facebook, Vimeo, Dailymotion and Metacafe. Free Version is Limited. Paid Version can do multiple downloads, playlists, etc.
- 4K Stogram makes backups of Instagram photos on a desktop computer.
- 4K Slideshow Maker creates and publishes slideshows with Ken Burns effect. It has technology of Face detection embedded also.
- 4K Video to MP3 converts videos into MP3 format.

Thanks to crowd-translation technology, 4K Download software has been translated into a variety of languages, including Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Swedish and Dutch.

Applications uses open source libraries and frameworks: Qt, FFmpeg, boost. Before version 3, it was available as open source software.

Development
4K Video Downloader was originally developed in the programming language C++ with QT framework using such libraries as Boost, FFmpeg, OpenCV, OpenSSL, LAME, and PortAudio.
Price
4K Video Downloader is free for sole public videos, and playlists consisting of up to 25 videos from the supported sites. However, for downloading playlists larger than that you need to buy a licence key.
