Paul Hunt is a gymnastics coach and gymnastic clown. Hunt was born in Illinois, and now lives in Murray, Utah. She runs Hunt Gymnastics (a.k.a. Hunt's Gym ) in Salt Lake City. Hunt has been performing comedy performances from women's gymnastics routines, including uneven bars, floor exercises, and balance beams since 1980. He has appeared on US and international television, including Wide World of Sports and > The Most Fun Video of America .
Hunt was a competitive male gymnast at the University of Illinois in the early 1970s. He won the Big Ten Conference individual championship in floor practice in 1971, and won again on the practice floor in 1973. He is the 1972 US National Sports Cup champion.
Hunt has been training gymnastics in Utah since 1974. While demonstrating a backflip for female students, he realizes the comic value of a man doing women's gymnastics. He performed his complex routine during a gymnastics competition for comic relief, wearing a tricot skirt and often calling himself Paulina Huntenova Paulette Huntinova or Paulette Huntenova or < some similar variations. Often he will wear his thick mustache.
