Paul Joseph Watson (born May 24, 1982), is a personality counselor and conspiracy theorist of English. He has been described as 'alt-right' by various sources, although he does not associate himself with that label, instead identifying himself as a classical liberal. He published content critical of Islam, feminism, pop culture, and left-wing politics.

He is editor-of-large from InfoWars.com, an online publication that promotes conspiracy theories about American and international politics, and contributor to talk radio program Infowars The Alex Jones Show , where he sometimes hosts or co-hosts. Watson has been working on Infowars.com since October 2002. Since August 2017, he has over a million subscribers on his political YouTube channel.

Political attitudes

Watson describes his formative moment when, at the age of 18, he witnessed the World Secrets Ruler, a documentary in which journalist Jon Ronson accompanied Alex Jones in infiltrate Bohemian Grove, the location where some conspiracy theorists believe the global elite is planning the New World Order.

Watson, along with Jones and InfoWars as a whole, is used to discuss conspiracy theories such as chemtrails, the New World Order and the Illuminati before turning to material against feminism, Islam, and left-wing politics. In an interview, Watson recalled, "I have talked about some pretty fruitful things in the past in my youth, in terms of conspiracy theories, we do not all believe what we believed ten years ago." Watson has been described as a member of the far-right "wing" by The New York Times, who wrote in August 2017 that "his video is a direct indigenous polemic, with a special focus on Europe" and also noted his opposition to the architecture modern and modern art. Faith Abou Atta, director of the anti-Islamophobic group Tells MAMA, has said that "Paul Joseph Watson has become 'the' nexus for the anti-Muslim account we have mapped... He has become an influencer in promoting information - not right - that has been spewed up by anti-Muslim and anti-migrant accounts many times. "

Watson previously described himself as a libertarian, and supported Ron Paul in the US presidential election of 2012. In the 2016 tweet, he said he no longer considers himself a libertarian because Gary Johnson "made the term embarrassing." Watson also calls himself a conservative, and he regards modern conservatism as a counter-cultural movement. In a post to Facebook in November 2016, Watson distinguished between being a member of "New Rights", which he considered different from the right. He claimed that alt-right "festered in a dark corner of sub-reddits and obsessed with Jews, racial superiority, and Adolf Hitler." He and Mike Cernovich have been at odds with figures such as Richard B. Spencer and David Duke who see white nationalism as necessary for alt-right; the more nationalist part of the movement refers to the first as alt-lite.

Although he supports Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election, Watson said in a tweet on April 6, 2017 he was "officially OFF the Trump train" following a presidential decree to launch a missile strike into Syria in response to a gas attack a few days earlier, believing Trump has broken his promise not to interfere in Syria. After the decline of Twitter followers occurred, he denied he had "turned Trump on," saying he was "off the Trump train in Syria." He stated in a separate tweet he will shift his focus to ensure French presidential candidate Marine Le Pen of the National Front will be elected in the 2017 election, where he was eventually defeated.

In media

In 2016, he was an early proponent of allegations that Hillary Clinton suffered from many serious medical conditions. Watson's part in making and popularizing the rumors was discussed in mainstream media as part of a discussion on the role of rumor and conspiracy theorists in the 2016 US presidential election.

In February 2017, he offered via Twitter to pay every journalist who thinks Sweden is safe to visit the country and live in MalmÃÆ'Â "'s" suburb of migrant settlements. " Many journalists picked up the offer, and Watson chose New York journalist and videographer Tim Pool, who had planned a similar investigation. Watson provided $ 2,000 USD for the Pool for the trip. The Pool Team also manages fund-raising to fund investigations into other 'no-fly zones' in other parts of Sweden and Europe.
