Video YouTube Music Awards
History
The 2013 edition of YTMA was held at Pier 36 New York City and broadcast live on Youtube.com/YTMA . Several famous artists, including Arcade Fire, Pentatonix and Lindsey Stirling (collaboration), Tyler, Creator, M.I.A., Lady Gaga and Eminem, performed. The awards ceremony starts at 6 pm EST and is scheduled for 90 minutes.
Fans can choose in each category by posting certain links from Youtube.com/YTMA on their Facebook, Google, or Twitter. The video with the most posts in each category is the winner. Artist of the Year won by Eminem and Video of the Year has been won by Girls' Generation for their video "I Got a Boy".
2013 edition is directed by Spike Jonze. The show was largely not authorized because Jonze wanted the show "..feel like a YouTube video - the raw mess makes stuff..."
The winners of the 2015 edition award ceremony were announced on March 2, 2015. 50 winners were selected based on "growth in views, customers and engagement over the past six months."
