The YouTube Play Button , part of the YouTube Creator Prize, acts in recognition by the most popular YouTube channel.
This is different from the YouTube Awards, which are meant to recognize the best quality video. The YouTube Creator Award is based on the number of channel subscribers, but is given at YouTube's absolute discretion. Each channel is reviewed before the award is issued, to ensure it follows the YouTube community guidelines.

Awards
When verified YouTuber reaches a certain milestone and is considered eligible for the YouTube Creator Prize, they are given a relatively flat trophy in a metal casing with the YouTube play button symbol. The cup has a different size: each button and plaque gets bigger the more customers the channel gets.
There are currently three different levels of rewards, plus the fourth one has been awarded only once:
- Silver Play Button , for channels that exceed 100,000 subscribers. The old version is made of nickel-plated cuproickel alloys. The new version (as of March 1, 2017) is 92% nickel, 5% carbon and 2.5% zinc, with other metal footprints.
- Play button Gold , for channels that exceed 1,000,000 subscribers. It's made of gold plated brass.
- Diamond Play Button , for channels that exceed 10,000,000 subscribers. It is made of silver-plated metal inserts with a large piece of crystal in the shape of a rotary triangle.
- Play button Ruby . In December 2016, YouTuber PewDiePie received a ruby ââtrophy as a reward for reaching 50,000,000 subscribers. It was made in the form of its channel logo: a hand giving "fist hand", or fist fist. It also comes with several mini awards to give to customers who have been subscribed the longest and are still active. It is not referenced on the Creator Awards page, and it is not known whether such trophies will be awarded to other YouTubers that transcend future milestones.
