Jilted John

Fellows was a drama student at Manchester Polytechnic when he first became famous in August 1978 as an eponymous singer of the new record "Jilted John", the first person's narrative of a hurt teenager whose girlfriend Julie had left him for another man named Gordon, "just because he's better looking than me/just because he's cool and trendy". The song is known for holding back "Gordon is a fool" repeated several times.

Fellows later said: "I have written a few songs and I want to record them So I went to a local record store and asked if they knew the indie or punk labels They said there were two, Stiff in London and Rabid down the road So I called Rabid, and they told me to send a demo, we did a demo with the late Colin Goddard - from Walter & Softies - on guitar, and drummer and bass player from Smirks I took it to Rabid, who loved it... so we recorded it a few days then, at Pennine Studios, with John Scott playing guitar and bass and Martin Zero (aka Martin Hannett) producing. "The single released by Rapid in April 1978 (TOSH 105), featured" Going Steady "as the A-Side and" Jilted John "as the B-side.

"Jilted John" was first played on national radio by BBC Radio One John Peelwho commented that if the single was promoted by a major record label he could see it being a big hit. This proves to be the case when taken by EMI International. The song was introduced by David Jensen in Top of the Pops as "one of the weirdest singles in a decade", and reached number 4 on the UK Singles Chart.

Two more singles were released in the same year under the guise of "Gordon the Moron". A fake album concept was also produced by Hannett followed, titled True Love Stories, charting John's love life - and two further singles, none of which became hits. No other footage follows this, making Jilted John the only surprise. However, the cash in one by Julie and Gordon sold quite well, as did the collar badge bearing the legend "Gordon is a fool" and "Gordon is not stupid".

Fellows revived the character of Jilted John at the 2008 Big Chill festival, along with Bernard Kelly, the inaugural new song about ultra-thin figure Keira Knightley. In December 2014, Jilted John won the 'One Hit Wonder World Cup' feature on BBC Radio 6 Music show Steve Lamacq. At the end of 2015 it was announced that Fellows will once again revive the Jilted John for Rebellion Festival 2016 in Winter Gardens, Blackpool.

John Shuttleworth

In 1986 Fellows created John Shuttleworth, a singer-songwriter from Sheffield, South Yorkshire, with a calm and slightly nerdish tendency. His musical talent is usually expressed through his Yamaha PSS portable keyboard, and his songs include titles like "Merpati dalam Flight" - a song that Shuttleworth tries to choose for the Eurovision Song Contest. A spoof documentary about his path to transmit a song for Eurovision, called "Europigeon", features past Eurovision stars such as Clodagh Rogers, Lynsey de Paul, Bruce Welch, Katrina Leskanich (from Katrina and Waves), Johnny Logan, Cheryl Baker and Brotherhood Human. He has released a number of albums and singles as John Shuttleworth.

Newer characters

Two subsequent Fellows creations followed, first Brian Appleton , a rock musician and lecturer of media studies from a college of further education in the Newcastle-under-Lyme area even though he originally came from Selly Oak in Birmingham. Her boyfriend, Wendy, is an aromatherapist, but unfortunately during her qualification she becomes allergic to the essential oils she uses. He is convinced that he has been instrumental in helping many rock actions to achieve the megastardome and has not yet received credit for his efforts, such as being the cause of the gap in "Make Me Smile (Come and See Me)" by Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel, unintentionally launched Phil Collins's vocal career in a failed audition for Genesis vocalist after the departure of Peter Gabriel and gave Howard Jones the idea of using pantomime artist in "New Song" while working in front of him at Clingfilm plant at High Wycombe. Brian also claims to have a significant influence on Thompson's Twins career (eg he inspired the hit 'Love on Your Side' while directing Alannah Currie to his hat accidentally thrown from his head) and Morrissey, whom Brian claims is inspired to form The Smiths after hearing the composition Brian himself "My Turn to be Poorly".

His latest character is Dave Tordoff , a builder from Goole who specializes in laser screed concrete floors. She had the ambition to become a speaker after a popular dinner, after seeing how easy it was for Kevin Keegan. His favorite topic was his accumulated wealth, followed by life on his ranch-style property with Mandy's wife and daughter Courtney. The hobbies allocated for 2007 include falconry.

Other jobs

In 1982 Fellows played Paul McCartney at Lennon by Bob Eaton at Crucible Theater, Sheffield, directed by Clare Venables. Fellows released another album in 1985 with its own name titled Love at the HaÃÆ'§ienda, which was re-released in 2004.

In 2000 he appeared as Alan Stephens, a St John Ambulanceman in two episodes Time Gentlemen Please .

Before creating Shuttleworth, Fellows appeared on Coronation Street as Les Charlton, a young biker who pursued the affection of the married Gail Platt (later Tilsley). During his fame as Jilted John, Fellows first appeared on Coronation Street in a very short cameo role in which he met Gail, the single at the time, on the streets of Manchester. In 2007 she appeared on the episode of ITV Heartbeat .

She presented her favorite poetry and prose programs on Radio 4's With Great Pleasure in January 2007.

The single "7" single-off UK was released in 1980 under the band name Going Red - "Some Boys"/"Tune Kevin String" - with drawing sleeves depicting Graham in the bathroom, fully dressed. The band, as credited to a single arm, consists of Graham Fellows (vocals/guitar), Mervin Cloud (guitar/vocals), Russell Giant (percussion) and Francis Charlton (bass guitar). Chris Sievey is also involved, perhaps pseudonymously as one of the names mentioned earlier. A-side is a new uptempo wave-style rocker, while the cute B-side features fake crowds and predictable heavy metal riffs.

Appears as Dr Persil at Ideal (2010) and as Eric Sykes in the BBC Four drama (2010).

He has an unused church on the island of Orkney, Rousay, which he intended to be a "protective artist".

In December 2015, Fellows appeared on BBC One Celebrity Mastermind answering questions on Donald Crowhurst, coming third.

Fellows will start a tour like himself in January and February 2018 and has announced that he is currently working on a new material album - Weird Town . The album will be her first release under her own name since Love at the Hacienda in 1985.
