Itsines traces its interest in fitness to playing basketball and other sports as a child, but recalls being "skinny and unhealthy" nowadays in his life. At age 15 or 16 she receives medical advice that she may have future fertility problems due to endometriosis, which she has undergone surgery. After reading online that healthy, fit, and strong can reduce infertility, he started exercising in the gym. He remembered being initially intimidated and overwhelmed by the gym, until the personal trainer encouraged him to "start somewhere". Finding that he enjoys how the practice makes him feel, he abandoned his original plan to become a beauty therapist and learn to become a personal trainer, graduating from the Australian Fitness Institute at the age of 18 as a Principal Coach. By 2018 its wealth is observed as $ 63 million.

Careers
Upon graduation, Itsines finds a job at a women's gym in Adelaide. He soon observed that the machine-based class he leads does not help his clients achieve their goals. One day, she leads the class through aerobic exercise routines rather than using a machine, and sees that they like her. Itsines come to believe that most women look for three specific outcomes of training: smaller inner thighs, more flat stomach, and firmer arms, while also worrying about being too big.
Itsines started a personal moving training business. The practical limitations in transporting equipment to his clients led him to focus on designing routines that use minimal equipment and minimal space. He also started training his older siblings who wanted to improve their fitness so they could play Netball in their middle school team, focusing on building strong core strength and legs. He lectures them on nutrition, and asks them to take photos before and after to track their progress. His 12-year-old cousin suggested using Instagram as a way of organizing photos. Within a few months, Itsines has gained hundreds of thousands of followers and received requests for advice and regular help. His colleague, Tobi Pearce, suggested that he devise his routine into ebooks that can be sold online. In March 2013, they founded the company Bikini Body Training with Itsines as its director and Pearce as CEO. The following January, they publish the first two Bikini Body Guides, with Itsines exercise in one volume, and nutrition information from dietitians Julie Dundon and Anne Schneyder from Nutrition Professionals Australia in other countries. Itsines will then offer guides through affiliate programs as well. In October, the guide has been downloaded more than a million times.
The BBG program is based on a high intensity exercise of 28 minutes to be completed three times per week. The exercise was built from a 150 movement repertoire inspired by various sports and other physical training. The meal package initially only provides 1,200 calories per day, but is updated to provide 1,600 to 1,800. He explains the overall strategy as not aimed at weight loss or muscle strengthening, but rather the creation of a particular look. Writing for The Daily Mail, a journalist described this appearance as "a very sleek and slender body, coupled with a high level of fitness and strength without bulk." The program is aimed primarily for women because Itsines feels he deeply understands the goals of women's health and fitness.
Itsines then regretted his choice of name for his guide, explaining in an interview "I wish I made it more clear that anyone could wear a bikini and that" bikini body "is not my body, it feels comfortable and strong and fits and is great about yourself when you wear clothes the least you can wear in public... Of course anyone can wear a bikini just wear it. "In another interview, he added" That's why when I released the app I called it Sweat With Kayla . "
In 2015, he embarked on a world tour, "Kayla Itsines Bootcamp World Tour", leading a free group fitness group. The tour includes the Australian capital, New York City, Los Angeles, and London.
In February 2015, Itsines took legal action against another Adelaide-based personal trainer, Leanne Ratcliffe, and Ratcliffe partner, Harley Johnstone, for comments they posted on their YouTube channel. Ratcliffe, publishing under the pseudonym "Freelee the Banana Girl", has claimed that the BBG meal plan requires users to starve themselves, and Johnstone, published as "Durianrider", claims that Pearce uses steroids. Itsines claim the statement is defamatory. He obtained an order to prevent further publication of the video. When the complaint was heard in the South Australian Supreme Court on March 23, Judge Withers directed his case to court, but the matter was finally settled out of court.
In April 2015, Apple featured Itsines in an advertisement for Apple Watch, which showed the heart rate monitor feature of the product.
The release of the Sweat With Kayla application in November 2015 was greeted with initial reactions from customers already paying for ebooks BBG . Of the first 137 reviews of the app in the iTunes store, 93 only gave him one star, citing cost and usability issues. Itsines responded to this critique by reducing the price of the app to $ 1 for the first month to one of the existing BBG subscribers.
Itsines toured again in June 2016, visiting London, New York, and Los Angeles on "Kayla Itsines Sweat Tour". Four thousand participants attended the New York class. In Los Angeles, participants march up to six hours to get a position close to the stage. After class, Itsines stayed for hours to meet and greet about a thousand participants.
In November 2016, Pan Macmillan published its first print book The The 28-Day Bikini Body Eating and Lifestyle Guide . In August 2017, he announced the publication of his second book, The Bikini Body Motivation & amp; Guide Habits , which will be available for purchase in November 2017.
Itsines praised the success of its social media to stay focused on his followers and his fitness journey, not on himself and his journey. He does not see himself as relatable to his audience, and believes that keeping their focus on them ensures greater sustainable relevance. Another part of its social media strategy is to keep an eye on body transformation, and therefore rarely post pictures of his face. He was also cautious about how he was represented visually by other publications, rejecting the photoshoot he thought was inconsistent with his picture. In a statement of his own values, he says that he will never promote something that he himself does not believe in, posing provocatively or voicing himself, or sending suggestions that are only relevant to his own lifestyle. He is the only person posting on his social media account.
He continues to train personally a small number of old clients, as well as his staff.
Personal life
Itsines are Anna's daughter and Jim Itsines, both teachers. She has a younger sister, Leah, who is a personal trainer and a grocer. Theines' family heritage is Greek, and he identifies himself as a Greek. He praised his many food choices for being raised in Greece.
His grandparents initially opposed his decision to become a personal trainer, to the point where he considered leaving the idea. They then came to support her career.
Itsines meet his partner, Tobi Pearce, at the gym. At the time, he was studying a double degree in Law and Commerce, and also learning to become a personal trainer. He trains his own clients, and has a bootcamp business. They have been living together since 2013. In April 2018, after being together for 5 and 1/2 years, Pearce proposed to her in front of her family. She said yes and they've been engaged ever since.
He has two Siberian huskies, named Ace and Junior. The former husky, TJ, died in February 2017.
Itsines give up drinking alcohol in 2011; he has never drunk alcohol now and believes that no one is pursuing a healthy lifestyle as well. He attributes this attitude to the loss of an aunt of alcohol poisoning. Kayla also praised healthy habits as a way she can stay on track with her balanced lifestyle.
