Kalina began taking pictures of herself every day starting on January 11, 2000, at the age of 19. Video Everyday shows photos chronologically, six per second, with the original piano score by his ex-girlfriend, Carly Comando. Throughout the compilation, Kalina's face remains emotionless in the middle of the frame. Kalina uploaded the video to Vimeo on August 8, 2006, and YouTube on August 27, 2006. Everyday was featured on VH1 episodes Web Junk 20 and on advertisements for Roadrunner Warner's Service Time Cable. In the New York Times article William A. Ewing, director of Musà © à © e de l'ÃÆ'â ⬠lysÃÆ'à © e, was quoted as saying, "The video of Noah represents a phenomenal amplification not only in what he produces and how he did it, but how many people were touched in such a short time.Nothing is comparable in the history of photography. "On June 16, 2016, Everyday had over 26.4 million views on YouTube.
Kalina initially intends Everyday to be a photo project, but is encouraged to make a movie after viewing the video by Ahree Lee, which consists of a portrait of artist's time lapse. He collected his photos into a video and released it on YouTube.
In December 2006, due to the fame Everyday , VH1 commissioned Kalina to take a picture of herself in the same pose used on Everyday , but with various celebrities including Paris Hilton, Lance Bass, David Hasselhoff, Jenna Jameson, will.i.am, Flavor Flav, lonelygirl15 and "Weird Al" Yankovic. The photos were taken backstage at VH1 Big at '06 Awards. In a ceremony broadcast on television, some pictures are shown before and after the commercial break. Kalina also posted photos on Flickr.
On July 16, 2012, Kalina announced the extension of the Everyday video on her website. The extended video, released to YouTube on September 4, shows a 12-year, 5-month self-portrait with a time of 7:41 (10 frames per second - 1 month every 3 seconds).
