Free Studio is a collection of free multimedia programs developed by DVDVideoSoft. The program is available in an integrated package as well as a separate download ("Free Studio Manager" included in both).

Overview

Free Studio consists of 48 programs, grouped into eight sections: YouTube, MP3 & amp; Audio, CD-DVD-BD, DVD & amp; Videos, Photos & amp; Images, Mobiles, Apple Device, 3D. The largest groups are DVD & amp; The video section contains 14 different apps. Part Mobiles is the second largest group with 13 programs. However, the YouTube section, especially the YouTube download program, has gained more popularity among users. The program has been tested and supported by a dozen software portals and has won awards from these sites. As far as demography is concerned, Free Studio has the highest popularity in Germany, Greece, Italy, and the United States. It's also popular in Japan, France and the UK. Some programs in the package are open source.

The DVDVideoSoft project was launched in 2006. The founders distributed paid software as an affiliate at the beginning, then their own products appeared on the site. Free YouTube Download was the first successful program, then DVDVideoSoft created and launched several other 'Free YouTube' apps. Then after user requests, DVDVideoSoft starts developing other types of applications including media converters, etc. Currently, DVDVideoSoft offers 49 different multimedia programs.

Features

The DVDVideoSoft YouTube program can be used to download YouTube videos in their original format and convert them to AVI, DVD, MP4, WMV etc. Or different audio formats. The YouTube section contains Free Video Call Recorders for the Skype button, but the program itself is not included in the FS installation (it must be downloaded and installed separately).

The 'MP3 & amp; The audio section consists of programs that convert audio files between different formats, convert audio files to Flash for web, extract audio from video files, edit audio files (Free Audio Dub), copy and burn CDs.

Attached to the CD-DVD-BD section is an application that allows users to burn files and folders to disk, to convert videos to DVD format and vice versa, to burn CDs, and to copy CDs to digital music files.

The 'DVD and Video' section contains some desktop video and DVD converter. Some programs can flip, rotate and crop (Video Free Dub Video). One of the most popular programs of this section is Dub Free Video. Converted videos now, contrary to previous versions, are flagged if there is no paied membership.

Free Studio includes several apps for Apple phones, iPods and other devices.

The 'Mobiles' section contains a dozen video converters for various mobile devices such as phones, Tablets and Game consoles. They convert videos to play them (BlackBerry, HTC, LG, Sony/Sony Ericsson, Nintendo, Xbox, Motorola phones etc.)

'Photos & amp; The image section combines the program for image conversion and resizing, extracting JPEG frames from video (Free Video To JPEG Converter), recording screen activity, creating screenshots (Free Screen Recorder).

The 3D section consists of programs for creating 3D videos and 3D images. There are several algorithms that make it possible to create different types of 3D images.

Operating system support

Free Studio runs under Windows XP/Vista/7/8/10 (but not Windows RT). If the version of the.NET Framework installed does not meet the minimum requirements, then the settings assistant offers to install it from the Microsoft website.

Ads

Free Studio (typical for freeware packages) is criticized for toolbars and Web search engine installations.

On March 24, 2017, DVDVideoSoft announced that it stopped showing other product ads during installation.
