Victoria Loren Kelly (born December 14, 1992) is an American singer, songwriter, record producer and actress who gradually gained recognition after starting to post videos on YouTube at the age of 14. When she was 16, Kelly auditioned for the American Idol singing television series . After being eliminated from the show, Kelly started working on her own music. In 2012, he independently released his first EP he produced, wrote, and mixed himself, titled Hand-Made Song By Tori Kelly . The following year, Scooter Braun became his manager after viewing his video on YouTube and introducing it to Capitol Records, with whom he signed in September. Life and career
Kelly was born in Wildomar, California. His father, Allwyn, is of Jamaican, Trinidad and Puerto Rican origin, while his mother, Laura, of Irish and German descent. He has a younger brother named Noah, born August 29, 1996. Growing up, he is exposed to various music by his parents. "I give them a lot of credit because it only plays all the different genres, and no genre is forbidden," he said when asked about his upbringing. Kelly has appeared on the Star Search event. With vocalist Tiffany Evans winning the Junior Champion title in the junior singers division, she did not win the contest.
In 2004, he participated in America's Most Talented Kids, singing Christina Aguilera's song "Keep on Singin 'My Song" and winning, defeating musician Hunter Hayes. He made his second appearance on the show in the Tournament of Champions, but lost to Antonio Pontarelli, a rock musician. At the age of twelve, Kelly was offered a record deal with Geffen Records, which she accepted, but because of conflicting ideas it was agreed upon for her release. In 2007, Kelly started posting videos to YouTube, at the age of 14. In 2010, Tori auditioned for Season 9 of American Idol in Denver, Colorado and made it to Hollywood Week but did not reach the "Top 24" of the artists. He has claimed that 'he was destroyed' but he has 'given him everything'. After that, she was asked to take part in a young version of the 1985 "We Are the World" charity song entitled "We Are the World: The Next Generation". On May 1, 2012, he released his first EP, titled Hand Made Songs by Tori Kelly , released on his own label, Toraay Records. Kelly wrote, produced, engineered, and recorded her own EP in her bedroom. Shortly after its release, EP made it into the Top 10 Album Pop List in iTunes. He calls the EP a "warm up" for the upcoming full album in the future. In February 2013, Kelly released a single titled "Fill a Heart", which she wrote for the Child Hunger Ends Here campaign by ConAgra Foods and Feeding America. Starting April 2013, Kelly performed in eight places across the continent for a "Heart Fill" tour, assisting in food banks in the cities during the day. On May 7, 2017, Kelly played the Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis, Tennessee opening to Soundgarden in what would be one of their last performances before frontman Chris Cornell committed suicide on May 17th.
On June 9th, Kelly and rapper Lecrae, released the single "I'll Find You", with Kelly as the leading artist. The accompanying music video was released on July 28, 2017. It featured a variety of St. Jude Hospital, and Kelly and Lecrae singing with a black background. It peaked at No. 11 on Billboard R & amp; B/Hip-Hop, No. 1 in Hot Christian Songs and No. 1. 17 on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart.
He also collaborated with country singer Chris Lane in the single "Take Back Home Girl" which has since been mapped at # 92 on the Billboard Hot 100. On March 30, 2018, Kelly released the single "Help Us to Love" featuring the Pregnantones.
