William West Anderson (19 September 1928 - June 9, 2017), known professionally as Adam West , is an American actor known primarily for his role as Batman in the 1960s ABC series with the same name and his 1966 theatrical film.

The West began acting in films in the 1950s. He played against Chuck Connors in Geronimo (1962) and The Three Stooges at The Outlaws Coming (1965). He also appeared in the science fiction film Robinson Crusoe on Mars (1964) and did voice work on The Fairly OddParents (2003-2017), The Simpsons > i> (1992, 2002), and Family Guy (2000-2018), plays a fictional version of himself in all three. Late in his career, the West starred in two direct-to-DVD Batman animated films, Batman: The Return of Knights Crusaders, and Batman vs. Two-Face , the latter being released posthumously.

Personal life

West married three times. His first marriage was with his girlfriend, Billie Lou Yeager in 1950. The couple divorced six years later. In 1957 he married Cook dancer Ngatokorua Frisbie Dawson, part of Otuka Puka Puka in Hawai'i. They had two children before their divorce in 1962. The West then married Marcelle Tagand Lear in November 1970. They had two children and stayed together for over 46 years, until the death of Adam. The West also has two stepchildren.

During the Batman television series, Western relations with Burt Ward's opponents are described as "problematic". He said, "Burt was the victim for making up stories to sell books, but in a good way, because he made me sound like King Kong." West also said that he played Batman "to laugh, but to do that, one should never think it's funny.You just have to pull that cowl and believe that no one will recognize you." Death

West died in Los Angeles, California on June 9, 2017, after a brief battle with leukemia.
