Airy is software developed by Eltima Software to download videos from YouTube.
The first version of this product was released in 2013. Written in Objective C it is a basic download tool that can process one video at a time. CNET staff in their review said that "It has a very simple interface with just a few options and copy/paste mechanics." Additional functionalities added include the capacity to download multiple files simultaneously by copying-pasting links in a text editor. This app can convert downloaded content to user-preferred format and resolution - HD, SD, and low definition. This application is able to extract audio files from video. Starting from version 2.0, the app can download the entire YouTube playlist.
Originally developed for Mac OS, Airy also supports Windows. Marina Dan of Softpedia says that "Airy is a useful and reliable software that provides the means to download videos or extract audio from selected clips on YouTube." Mac versions have more features than those for Windows, including playlist downloads and the ability to stop and resume downloads.
Airy has been included in the list of recommended tools for downloading YouTube videos. Some technology websites put Airy in the first place on their best YouTube Videos Download list.
