Helbig was born in Woodbury, New Jersey, daughter of John Helbig and Theresa McGinnis. He has an older brother, John, and a younger brother, Tim. She attended Gateway Regional High School in Woodbury Heights, New Jersey. He is a successful track star and a winning pole-medal winner.

In early 2008, Helbig narrated a short-lived animated web series, Bedtime Stories on My Damn Channel, which consists of a parody of a classic parody of R-rated. My Damn Channel founder and CEO, Rob Barnett, found his personal vlog through his profile and offered him the opportunity to host his own video blog series on the My Damn Channel site. It became DailyGrace , which aired on April 14, 2008, with new episodes published every weekday. On October 11th, 2010, DailyGrace was launched as its own YouTube channel. By the end of December 2013, this channel has collected over 2.4 million subscribers and over 211 million video views on YouTube. From the start of the series from April 2008 to December 2013, Helbig created more than 830 DailyGrace episodes for DailyGrace the YouTube channel - in addition to the published 695 DailyGrace episodes exclusively on the My Damn Channel website (i.e., all episodes up to October 8th, 2010 as well as additional additional videos after that date).

On November 4, 2013, Helbig launched an exclusive weekly series exclusively DailyGrace to the My Damn Channel website entitled One Things You Did not Know About Me Of The Past Week . The series lasts five episodes and ends December 2, 2013.

On December 27, 2013, Helbig uploaded his last episode DailyGrace to the YouTube channel DailyGrace . Four days later, My Damn Channel released a statement announcing that Helbig had chosen not to renew multi-year contracts with the network, and that in the future, no new content would be created by Helbig for DailyGrace Channels Youtube. My Shit channel shows that the YouTube channel DailyGrace will remain active only as an archive, with plans for the network to upload the initial episodes of DailyGrace and other Helbig content previously exclusive to My Damn's website Channel.

On January 6, 2014, Helbig relaunched its privately owned channel it'sGrace (renamed from GracieHinABox ) as its main YouTube channel. The news of Helbig's departure from My Damn Channel and the transition back to his own independent channel contributed to the dramatic increase in iGrace's subscribers, from just under 87,000 in the last week of 2013 to over half a million in the first week of 2014. On January 22, 2014, just two and a half weeks after channel launch, it'sGrace exceeded 1 million subscribers. On April 30, 2014, it was announced through a press release that Helbig has partnered with a Full Screen multi-channel network. On December 30, 2014, just one week before the channel's one year anniversary, it'sGrace passed 2 million subscribers. On August 22, 2016, it'sGrace passed 3 million subscribers, over the top of its channel DailyGrace . As of June 2018, the YouTube channel it'sGrace has over 2.9 million subscribers and over 307 million video views.

On July 1, 2014, Helbig and co-host Mamrie Hart showcase their inaugural snapshot of their summer travel themed series #HeyUSA on the YouTube channel Astronauts Wanted . Eight full-length episodes aired on Conde Nast Entertainment's digital video platform The Scene on October 15, 2014. The second season of #HeyUSA was aired on The Scene on April 16, 2015, even without Helbig as Hart's travel partner. Instead, Helbig introduced each episode and announced the locations he selected for Hart's traveling companions and guests of Kingsley, Tyler Oakley, Jenna Marbles, Colleen Ballinger, and Flula Borg.

On March 31, 2016, along with AT & amp; T Hello Lab, Helbig aired a new series of Writing With Grace on his YouTube channel, where he instructed viewers to collaborate with him via Wattpad to write together. a novel called "Freak Week". Helbig, along with other fellow YouTube personalities, held a full-length live novel in VidCon on June 24, 2016.

On November 15, 2017, it was announced through a press release that Helbig had left Fullscreen and partnered with the Studio71 multi-channel network.

Starting on March 5, 2018, Helbig and Mamrie Hart started holding a new YouTube event together called This Might Get... on a custom channel of the same name.
