Press Play On Pita PPOT ) is a Danish band that uses the Commodore 64 tone. The band was formed in 1999 and has six members. The band classified itself as a rock and bitpop band. The name of the band comes from the message that the Commodore 64 computer is in response to the LOAD command.

Members

All members are alumni of computer science programs at the University of Copenhagen. Theo Engell-Nielsen serves as a keyboardist. Jesper Holm Olsen is a guitarist in the band. Other members are Martin Koch, Uffe Friis Lichtenberg, SÃÆ'¸ren Trautner Madsen, and Andrà ©  © Glasius Tischer.

Music and style

The band took music tracks from the Commodore 64 game and turned it into rock music. Bass, drums, and distorted guitars were used to add Commodore 64 music. Engell-Nielsen said that while playing Commodore 64 games he and other band members heard orchestral rock music-like songs while his parents heard "blip-blips".

CD releases and performances

In 2000 the band released the CD "Loading Ready Run" and in 2004 released the CD "Run/Stop Restore". In 2007 the band's performances were posted to Myspace and YouTube, and on K.B. Hallen band performed the opening act for the Danish band, Mew. In 2009 the band performed throughout Europe. In 2008, the band performed at the Roskilde Festival. Martin Galway, Jon Hare, and Rob Hubbard have performed with PPOT.

In 2012, the band released a double album "Home Computer".
