Felid hybrid - Wikipedia
src: upload.wikimedia.org

A felid hybrid is one of a number of hybrids among various species of the cat family, Felidae. This article discusses hybrids between Felinae subfamily species ( feline hybrids ). For hybrids between two species of the Panthera genus (lions, tigers, jaguars, and leopards), see the Panthera hybrid. There is no known hybrid between Neofelis (leopard) and other genera. In contrast, many of the genera of Felinae interact with each other, albeit slightly hybridized under natural conditions, and not all combinations tend to be viable (eg between small rusted cats and leopard-sized leopards).

Caracal ÃÆ'— hibrida serval: caraval dan servical

Caraval is a cross between caracal men (caracal caracal) and serval females ( Leptailurus serval )), whereas serval servant offspring and caracal women are called servicals. The first servicals were accidentally bred when the two animals were placed together at the Los Angeles Zoo. The offspring are brownish with pale spots. If a female servical is crossed with a male carapace, the result is a car service; if he is crossed with male serva, the result is a cervix, etc.

Bobcat ÃÆ' - lynx: blynx and lynxcat

The blynx or lynxcat is a hybrid of a jungle cat ( Lynx rufus ) and several other species of the genus Lynx . The appearance of offspring depends on the type of lynx used, such as Eurasia lynx ( Lynx lynx ) more mottled than the Canadian lynx ( Lynx canadensis ). This hybrid has been raised in captivity and also occurs naturally where a lynx or a forest cat can not find its own species member to mate.

At least seven of these hybrids have been reported in the United States, outside of captivity. In August 2003, two wild hybrids between wild Canadian lynx and bobcats were confirmed by DNA analysis in the Moosehead region of Maine. Three hybrids were identified in northeastern Minnesota. This is the first confirmed hybrid outside captivity. Mitochondrial DNA studies show all as a result of marriage between female Canadian lynx and male bobcats. Canada men lynxÃ, bobâ € "hybrid trap cats stuck in 1998, radio-collared and released, only to starve to death. The female hybrid is fertile. In November 2003, lynxcat was seen observed in Illinois, 500 miles (800 km) from the normal lynx region, but perhaps the hybrid pet fled.

Hybrids resemble bobcats with larger bodies and smaller legs, but have some features like lynx: long ear beams and almost completely black-tailed tails. The Canada lynx is a protected species in 14 US states that are the southern part of its historical reach, but hybrids are not protected and may be shot by hunters. However, some weird Lynx may color morphs either bobcats or lynx ladies rather than hybrids. This poses a danger protecting the murdered Canadian lynx.

Bobcat ÃÆ'â €" jungle lynx

Forest lynx is a hybrid between a jungle cat and a wild forest cat species ( F. Chaus , not to be confused with the Forest Cats race, described below), bred as an exotic pet. The next generation may include domestic genes, as they can cross into the domestic descendants of Savannah, Egypt Mau, Serengeti, and Pixie Bob, and also have crossbreeding with wild caracals.

European wildcat ÃÆ'â €" jungle cat: Euro- chaus

Euro-chaus is a man-made hybrid between the European wildcat ( Felis silvestris ) and the species of cats. Should not be confused with the Euro-chausie, which is a cross between domestic Chausie breeds and European wild cats (see below) .

Margay ÃÆ' - ocelot: marlot

The marlot is a hybrid between the male margarine ( Leopardus wiedii ) and the female ocelot ( L. pardalis ). In May 1977, the Long Island Ocelot Club (LIOC) announced the birth of a marlot raised by Barbara Brocks using an implanted parent. There is no description of the marlot, but the parent species both have a rosette or marble pattern in a sandy background.

Margay ÃÆ'â €" oncilla hybridization efforts

There was an attempt to cultivate margarine with oncilla ( Leopardus tigrinus ) by Dutch breeder Mme Falken-Rohrle in the 1950s. This does not seem to work.

Domestic_ - hybridization

The wildcat of Africa ( F. lybica ) is domesticated, known as F. catus, F. silvestris catus, or F. lybica catus , has been hybridized with some species of wild felid. This wild-domestic hybrid is sometimes called the "wild-domestic hybrid", but this is a misnomer, since it refers to a pet population species that has returned to life without a human caregiver. Most are artificial hybrids (ie, intentionally bred by humans), although natural hybridization has occurred (see below) .

Domestic cat confirmed hybrid felektel

Some couples have given birth to more than one variety, cultured for different looks and different percentages of wild felid genes. They can thus form different breeds with separate breed standards, although many of these hybrids are not recognized by the main breeds registry. Some are the result of accidental cross-breeding in a zoo, or experimental hybridization (such as wolfdogs) for the exotic pet market.

    Ambiguous named non-hybrid breeds

Jaguarundi Curl is not a jaguarundi hybrid. This is a short-legged experimental domestic breed developed from Highland Lynx/Highlander and Munchkin breeds, named after short-legged stray cats.

Ocicat is not a hybrid between domestic cat and ocelot. It comes from Siamese and Abyssinian domestic cat races, and gets its name from signs that resemble signs of ocelot headquarters.

The Desert Lynx and American Lynx experimental breeds were originally claimed to be a hybrid of a forest cat with about 12.5% wild genes. Regardless of their appearance a little like a jungle cat, DNA testing failed to detect bobcat marking genes, and these cats are now considered entirely domestic for proprietary purposes, fancy cat registration, and import and export laws. This is parallel to the Pixie-bob case, in which the cultivated cat speculates to be a domestic-cat-cat, but it proves to be all domestic.

The breed "Lynx" group has grown with Alpine lynx and Highlander derivatives (formerly Highland Lynx). So far, several ongoing cross-breeding programs are recognized by registrants of breeds as standard breeds.
